As it turns out, there really is such a thing as a Gruffalo as the children and parents who visited Greenwich Shopping Park last week discovered to their delight!
And unlike with mice, he was most affable with humans
In fact - he came all the way down from his deep dark wood to make a special appearance at Greenwich Shopping Park! Luckily, visitors did not have to trick any woodland animals to see him - they just needed a camera to capture the moment.
Some of course were deceived by his terrible claws, and terrible teeth in his terrible jaws...

What manner of beast is this?
The furry creature, illustrated in Julia Donaldson’s book which bears his name, loved spending time with the children who came to meet him, many of whom knew his story by heart.

Even Gruffalos like hugs
Age didn’t seem to be a bar, everyone wanted a chance to interact with Mr Gruffalo!
The Gruffalo has been a firm favourite with children across the country for many years and, as so many of our customers are parents, we were thrilled to bring him to the park for our shoppers to enjoy - absolutely free.

As the day drew to a close, it was time for him to go. But keep a careful eye out, you never know where or when he might decide to spend time with us again!

Till the next time Gruffalo, thanks for joining us!
